  • Biography

He entered the Jesuit order in 1942 and was ordained a priest in 1951. He completed his studies in Social Sciences and Economics at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. In 1961 he became a Professor at the Faculty of Applied Economics of the Catholic University of Leuven, where he taught until 1983 and a Professor of Economics at the Collegium Hungaricum of Leuven (Belgium). King Baldwin I of Belgium honored him with the Order of Lipó and the title of Baron.

He founded the charity organization "Help for Hungarian Youth", which until 2005 provided financial aid to talented Hungarian youth in both Belgium and Hungary. After his retirement in 1983, he was the head of the Central European Research Institute for a long time, and the Director of the Collegium Hungaricum of Leuven until 1998.

In 2005 he was awarded the Hungarian Heritage Award and the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic.
