The Fraternal Economy workshop in July will consider the many crises facing multilateralism and the UN system. Humanity has entered a new era of multipolarity, but whether this new era will be one of peace or escalating conflict is yet to be determined.

One crucial question is whether the UN can be made more effective in its core missions of peace, human rights, and sustainable development. The goal of global governance remains a great and unsolved challenge, one in which the Church has spoken with profound wisdom and guidance in its Social Teachings.
