The aim of the November workshop will be to propose initiatives for economic justice for the Jubilee Year 2025. Past Jubilee years, and notably Jubilee 2000, have made crucial contributions to global economic justice.
In 2000, Pope John Paul’s call for justice on developing country debt helped to spur the Highly Indebted Poor Country (HIPC) Initiative.
Next year’s Jubilee will coincide with the UN Financing for Development Summit in Madrid, June 30-July 3, 2025.
